The assignment was to do some sort of a "Mini". What I did was just did some sketches of some Japanese items. I drew a Japanese cup, a Japanese maple leaves, a Japanese tea house, and some simmering vegetables. The point of doing these "Minis" is to try to and figure out how we want to do our "Bigs", which is pretty much a bigger and better creation than the "Mini". My idea for my big is to have some contrast with the texture of my final project. Obviously, I want my artwork to have unity, to make me feel like the artwork is finished and completed. The line part in my sketches are looking fairly well but could be better. I could've shown some value and a bit of texture to my sketches to show that I want to add value and texture into my "Big" when I got to that point. That way when I add value and texture to my final project, it would actually make the drawing look as realistic as I can get it.
